The Fyzabad Dispensary

Government by Baboo (now Raja) Bishn Prakash Narain Sing, to be used as the charitable dispensary at Fyzabad. It was impossible to obtain a good position for taking the photograph, but still the picture shews the building to be a very handsome one. We are indebted for the design to Lieut. Pierson, of the Itoyal Engineers. The hospital, which CDSt about Rs. 40,000, was finished in March, 1864. Besides having ward-accommodation for fifty in-door patients, with exceedingly ample superficial and cubic space, there are several private wards, an ophthalmic ward, large reception room for out-door patients, an operating theatre, and a retiring room, &c. Raja Bishn Prakash Narain Sing is a native of Tirhoot, but has for some years resided at Ajudhia, the sacred city near Fyzabad. The Government was pleased to confer or him the title of Raja for his munificent and public-spirited conduct in building this handsome hospital, and also for his lojalty during the mutiny.
